Press Release March, 2023
Arizona’s own Mike Bolland is honored with having his amputee podcast, “We’re not Stumped” listed as a top podcast for 2023.
Amplitude Magazine states: “… this podcast takes plenty of risks, doesn’t shy away from any subject, and informs while it entertains.”
Phoenix, March 14, 2023 – Mike Bolland, one time child actor and first one-handed professional bowler, was recognized by Amplitude Magazine for hosting one of “Six Amputee-Hosted Podcasts to Listen to in 2023”. Bolland, who was born without a right hand, was honored with the thought that his podcast is helping share the journeys of those living with limb loss or limb difference.
“The vision of this podcast was always to share stories of those in a community I belong to as well,” Bolland said. “But getting this honor really brings to light how important this podcast is. As I interview other amputees, I find we are the only people we know who are like us. This podcast helps bring people like us together.”
Bolland, however, has learned that the podcast is more expansive than he first imagined.
“As an amputee myself, I can ask questions of my guests that others may shy away from,” Bolland stated. “This has led to helping many others. For example, people who are just beginning their amputee journey get to hear firsthand accounts of the highs and lows that can be associated with limb loss. Some are still in their hospital beds, trying to figure out what’s next in their new normal. By watching or listening, they are able to glean so much from the ‘We’re Not Stumped’ podcast and the guests that share their journeys. I have received such positive feedback. The podcast and its impact have exceeded my expectations.”
